Originally from Northern Ontario, I fell in love with the Ottawa region when I moved here to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa, almost 20 years ago.
After graduating, I built a strong practice downtown Ottawa, committed to helping my clients to the best of my abilities and with the highest quality of care. It is with that same dedication that I decided to expand my vision and jump in a new adventure as the owner of MOOV Physiotherapy.
As a Physiotherapist, I am devoted to the well-being of my clients and I take continuous learning seriously. Over the years, I’ve developed a solid expertise in orthopaedics, sports related injuries and in women’s health.
My caring personality, my active listening and my ability to integrate my pelvic health and advanced orthopaedic training makes my treatment approach unique.
Traveling and physical activity are an important part of my life... I love cycling, running, hiking and circuit training. I hope to share these passions for many years to come with my husband and my 2 adorable daughters as they continue to grow.
I earned my Master of Physiotherapy from Queen’s University after receiving my Bachelor of Kinesiology, Major in Athletic Therapy from the University of Calgary.
I have taken numerous post-graduate courses and over the years have developed a passion for helping runners, from the novice to elite athlete. While running related injuries make up much of my practice, I still maintain a keen interest in all musculoskeletal injuries in the general and high performance populations.
I believe in staying up to date with evidence based practices and draw on my strong knowledge and skills of exercise and pain science to develop a high quality, individualized treatment plan that is right for you.
I am an avid runner and soccer player and enjoy training and competing in 10km and half marathon races. Originally from Calgary, I love spending time in the mountains and traveling with my family.
I might not have been born in Ottawa, but I was raised in this great city. I studied at the University of Ottawa where I received a Bachelor of science in Physiotherapy in 2007.
My initial focus, after graduating, was improving my treatment and differential diagnosis skills by following in the National Orthopaedic Division’s Manual Therapy courses. I took many post graduate courses that helped solidify my understanding of the human body and the nature of injuries.
In 2014, my professional life changed after taking Diane Lee’s Integrated Systems Model Series. With this approach, I am able to evaluate the relationship between the articular, visceral, myofascial and neural systems and how they relate and affect one another. I then started focusing on treating and helping clients with complex issues who felt like they were at a dead end in the treatment of their pain. Now my passion is working with people who have been struggling with chronic or insidious-type pain and helping them understand their issue while finding a strategy to live the best physical life they can.
My mandate as a physiotherapist is to keep up to date in the latest evidence-based practices and continuously work hard at providing the best treatment to each and every individual I have in my care.I have a young family and my spare time is spent enjoying the two little miracles that pitter and patter everywhere in our home. But aside from them, I am a HUGE Manchester United fan…don’t even try to banter, my team is better than yours ;)
